Treatment

Gum treatment deals with inflammation under the gumline, from a cleaning deeper than a polish to a plan you return for. At Smile Makers in Jeddah it starts with an exam and measurements of the gum pockets. Blood that keeps appearing on the brush is a reason for that exam, and the result depends on how deep the inflammation is.

What is gum treatment?

Gum treatment is care for inflammation under the gumline and around the root. It is wider than a polish that lifts tea stain. At Smile Makers in Jeddah we start with an exam. We measure pocket depth with a small probe.

The number is read to you in the chair. We do not publish a chart of grades on the page, because a mouth is measured and not guessed.

Tea and coffee in Jeddah leave color on the tooth. That is a surface color. Bleeding is a gum story. They can show up in the same mouth, and the work is different.

The cleaning page explains tartar you can see. This page is for what sits under the edge.

Why is bleeding on brushing examined?

Blood that keeps appearing on the brush is a reason to book an exam. We do not ask you to get used to it. Calm gums do not leave blood every time the brush passes. Leaving the bleeding for months keeps inflammation under the edge, where the bristles do not reach well.

The exam shows whether the problem is shallow or deeper.

Breath odor with a puffy edge belongs in the same question. A harder brush does not treat depth. It can scratch the edge and increase recession. Start with a soft brush, and let the measurement decide the rest.

A regular cleaning or deeper gum care?

Removing tartar above the edge clears what you see, and what causes shallow bleeding for many people. If tartar is under the gum and the pocket is deep, care goes down to the root surface. We calm the inflammation, then measure again at a later visit. The number of visits is written after the measurement.

There is no single number for every mouth on this page.

We do not name a device. We do not name a laser by company. The plan is built on pocket depth and on how you brush at home. The name of a machine does not change the need for floss.

What happens at the clinic?

The probe moves around the tooth and records where it bleeds and where the pocket is deep. Care may be split up if the whole mouth is involved. Local anesthetic is used if cleaning under the gum is uncomfortable. We do not name the drug.

After the visit the root may feel sensitive for days. That eases for most people. Do not stop brushing because the gum bled once. Stopping brings tartar back faster.

What do you do at home?

Use a soft brush and short strokes on the edge. A side-to-side scrub hurts the gum around a tooth the way it hurts the gum around a filling. Floss once a day reaches between the teeth. If floss bleeds in the first days and then eases, continue gently.

If bleeding is still there at about two weeks, we want to see it.

Smoking keeps inflammation going even after a careful visit. If you are smoking less, the gums gain from that. If you are followed for blood sugar, tell the dentist. Unsteady sugar slows how the gum settles.

We do not write a diet on the page.

What changes the cost?

The price of gum treatment is not on this page. An offer, if there is one, lives on the offers page only. The fee changes with how many teeth are involved, with pocket depth, and with the need for more than one visit.

Ask what the figure includes. Ask whether a review weeks later is inside it. A measurement at the first visit is clearer than a general question before anyone has seen you.

Can gum treatment be paid with Tabby?

This service is not listed for Tabby instalments on the site. If you ask about a listed service, Tabby decides the application. How you pay for gum treatment is agreed with reception. Swelling with fever is not delayed because of payment.

Call so we can see you sooner.

Book with your name, mobile number, and gum treatment. You do not pick a clock time on the site. Reception calls during opening hours. The clinic WhatsApp is 055 117 0327.

Write whether blood is on the brush daily, or whether this is before an implant you are considering.

It may suit

  • Blood keeps appearing on the brush while you clean
  • Odor or puffiness in the gum that brushing alone has not calmed
  • Visible tartar, and you want to know what is under the edge
  • An implant is planned, and the gums need to be calm first

It may not suit

  • You want a color polish only, with no measurement of depth
  • Night pain in a tooth coming from the nerve, not the gum
  • Facial swelling with fever, which needs a prompt exam
  • You will not brush afterward and want the clinic visit to be enough on its own

Aftercare

Use a soft brush and short strokes, without a scrubbing side-to-side motion
Floss once a day even if it bleeds in the first days
Tell the dentist if you smoke or if you are followed for blood sugar
Return if bleeding lasts about two weeks or the gum swells more

Questions

A shell can last for years if the edge stays sealed and the gums stay calm. There is no single lifespan for every mouth. Ice, grinding, and using teeth as tools can shorten it. Come back if a corner chips.

Sometimes a thin layer of enamel is removed so the shell does not stick out. Some teeth need little or none. The dentist decides tooth by tooth after seeing the enamel and the bite. A no-prep line is not a promise for every mouth.

A veneer is a shell on one tooth or a few. A Hollywood smile usually means the front teeth that show together, so one tooth does not turn lighter than its neighbors. The exam sets the number, not the service name.

The shade is compared with your skin under clinic light, then checked in daylight when that is possible. A very white shade can look harsh when you talk. You see the shells at the try-in before permanent bonding.
