Children's dentistry

Children's dentistry covers exams, fillings, and brushing advice for baby teeth and new permanent teeth. At Smile Makers in Jeddah the first visit lets the child meet the chair, and a filling in a baby tooth holds the space for the tooth that follows. The clinic tells you the age it sees, and each child handles the visit differently.

What does children's dentistry include?

Children's dentistry is exams, fillings, and brushing advice. It covers baby teeth and permanent teeth that have just come in. Smile Makers is one clinic in Jeddah. A visit may be for looking only.

It may be for a tooth that hurts. We explain what we see to parents in plain words, without frightening language.

We do not promise a shape for the visit. Some children accept the chair the first time. Some need a shorter time and then come back. That difference is expected.

It is not a failure by the child or the parents.

What is the first visit like?

The first visit introduces the chair, the mirror, and counting. We look at the gums and count the teeth. We may not place a filling the same day if there is no pain or swelling. If there is pain, we treat what is needed, calmly.

We stop if the child needs a break, and we finish at a near visit.

How parents sit is explained at the appointment, according to the child's age. We do not publish one rule for every age.

Why do baby teeth still get fillings?

A baby tooth holds space for the tooth that follows. It has a nerve. If decay grows, it can hurt the child and make eating and sleep harder. Filling it while it is calm protects that stretch of time until the tooth is close to loosening.

If the tooth is already loose and the hole is small, watching may be enough. If it is firm and the decay is obvious, a filling is a calmer path than waiting for swelling.

Frequent juice keeps sugar on the baby tooth. Water between meals is gentler. Tell us if the child sleeps with milk or juice still on the teeth. We arrange the plan without blame.

Fillings for adults and permanent teeth have their own page. The idea is close: decay with a calm nerve means a filling. The difference is that a baby tooth is smaller, and when it will loosen is part of the decision.

From what age does the clinic see a child?

We do not write a youngest age on this page. We do not invent a number. Smile Makers tells you its policy from reception when you call.

Give the child's age when you call. Reception compares it with the policy. Do not take the number from another clinic's website.

What about how a child acts in the chair?

We do not promise that a child will sit quietly. We do not describe the visit as having no sensation. If a local anesthetic is needed, we explain before the injection in words that fit the child's age. The numbness fades after the visit.

The reaction afterward differs. Some children finish their day. Some need a hug and soft food until the numbness fades.

A varnish on the tooth may be mentioned. Whether the clinic uses it is for confirmation, not a promise on the page.

If a child needs teeth moved later, the fixed braces page explains brackets. Age is still a question for reception, not a number here.

What changes the plan?

The plan changes with how many teeth are involved, with swelling, and with whether the child can finish the visit that day. We do not put a price on the page. An offer, if there is one, lives on the offers page only.

Ask what the figure includes if an exam and a filling come together. A phone photo of the tooth helps describe the complaint. It does not replace seeing the child.

Can a child's visit be paid with Tabby?

This service is not listed for Tabby instalments on the site. If you ask about another listed service, Tabby decides the application. How you pay for the child's visit is agreed with reception. Swelling with fever does not wait for payment to be arranged.

Call so we can see the child sooner.

Book with the child's name, the parent's mobile number, and children's dentistry. You do not pick a clock time on the site. Reception calls during opening hours. The clinic WhatsApp is 055 117 0327.

Write the child's age, and whether there is pain or this is only a first meeting.

It may suit

  • A child in an age the clinic accepts, after reception explains the policy
  • Decay in a baby tooth that is still firm
  • A first visit to get acquainted, with no urgent pain
  • A new permanent tooth that needs an exam or a filling

It may not suit

  • You expect a promise about how calm the child will be, or a set shape for the visit
  • An age you assumed from another website and the clinic has not confirmed
  • Swelling and fever, and you want a page instead of a call
  • You want frightening phrases for the child before the chair

Steps

  1. 01

    Meeting

We count the teeth, look at the gums, and tell the child what we will look at.

    Decision

If there is no pain, we may only examine and finish treatment at another visit.

  3. 03

If a filling is needed and the child is ready, we do it, and we stop if a break is needed.

  4. 04

Questions

A shell can last for years if the edge stays sealed and the gums stay calm. There is no single lifespan for every mouth. Ice, grinding, and using teeth as tools can shorten it. Come back if a corner chips.

Sometimes a thin layer of enamel is removed so the shell does not stick out. Some teeth need little or none. The dentist decides tooth by tooth after seeing the enamel and the bite. A no-prep line is not a promise for every mouth.

A veneer is a shell on one tooth or a few. A Hollywood smile usually means the front teeth that show together, so one tooth does not turn lighter than its neighbors. The exam sets the number, not the service name.

The shade is compared with your skin under clinic light, then checked in daylight when that is possible. A very white shade can look harsh when you talk. You see the shells at the try-in before permanent bonding.
