Removable dentures are a full or partial plate you take out to clean. At Smile Makers in Jeddah they are made from impressions, and the tongue and cheek need time to accept them. Sore spots are adjusted in the chair, and the result differs from person to person.
What are removable dentures?
Removable dentures are an appliance you take out to clean, then put back. A full denture replaces a jaw that has no teeth left. A partial denture replaces missing teeth and keeps the teeth that remain. At Smile Makers in Jeddah we start with a gum exam, then impressions.
We do not write that delivery day feels the same in every mouth. The shape of the bone changes the feeling. Saliva and the bite change it too. A later adjustment is part of the path, not an extra visit with no reason.
Full plate or partial plate?
A full denture rests on the gums and the cheeks. It has no clasp, because the jaw has no teeth. A partial denture fills the gaps and holds onto what is left. The hold may be clasps on teeth.
The design may be something else. The type made here is for the clinic to confirm.
We do not name a product or a trade system on the page. The tooth that carries a clasp collects food at the edge. If that tooth is loose or decayed, we treat it or change the plan before the denture is made. A plate on a weak tooth tires both.
How does getting used to it feel?
In the first days you may have more saliva. The plate may feel large to the tongue. Read aloud at home for a few minutes. Speech improves with that practice for most people.
Start with soft food. If you can, chew on both sides so the plate does not tip.
This settling-in is expected. It is not comfort from the first hour. Call if strong nausea stays, or if pain stops you eating. Do not use two weeks as the measure when there is a sore.
What about sore spots?
A painful red spot means the edge is pressing in one place. Come in within a few days. Waiting until the spot breaks open makes the plate harder to wear. At the clinic a small amount of extra material is removed.
Do not cut the denture with scissors. Do not use a file from home. Home trimming opens the bite and makes repair harder.
Denture adhesive does not hide a sore that needs an adjustment. If you want adhesive, ask before you buy it. Adhesive over extra pressure delays the visit that fixes the cause. We do not name an adhesive brand here.
How do you clean the appliance?
Take the denture out and clean it over a basin of water. If it drops, the water softens the blow to the base. A soft brush is enough, without a gritty toothpaste. Boiling water warps acrylic.
Scratches make stains return faster. Wash your gums and tongue before you put the plate back. A clean plate on neglected gums is not enough.
Do you sleep with it out? The answer depends on the type and on your gums. This page does not give one rule for every patient.
Jeddah heat warps a denture left in a car. Do not leave it on the dashboard. Heat here acts like very hot water on the base.
What changes the cost?
The price of a denture is not on this page. An offer, if there is one, lives on the offers page only. The fee changes between a full plate and a partial, with how many teeth remain, and with a filling or extraction on a supporting tooth before the impression.
Ask what the figure includes. Ask whether the first adjustment visit is inside it. Impressions alone are not a quote for a mouth nobody has examined.
Can I pay with Tabby?
You can ask to pay with Tabby. Approval comes from Tabby, not from the clinic. Tabby may approve the application, approve part of it, or decline it. Instalments do not change the denture type.
They do not remove the need for adjustment.
If the application is declined, you and reception agree how to pay. A painful tooth or an abscess is not delayed because instalments did not go through. Making the denture can wait if there is no infection.
Book with your name, mobile number, and removable dentures. You do not pick a clock time on the site. Reception calls during opening hours. The clinic WhatsApp is 055 117 0327.
Write whether the jaw is empty or teeth remain, so a full plate and a partial are not mixed up.

It may suit
- A jaw with no teeth, and you want a full plate you can remove to clean
- Some teeth remain and could support a partial plate
- You want a removable replacement and you know the first days take practice
- An implant or a bridge is not the plan right now
It may not suit
- You expect the same fit for every mouth on delivery day
- Inflamed gums, or a decayed clasp tooth, not treated yet
- You plan to trim the plate at home if it presses
- A known reaction to a denture material you have not told the dentist
Aftercare
You can ask Tabby about instalments. Approval comes from Tabby.
Questions
A shell can last for years if the edge stays sealed and the gums stay calm. There is no single lifespan for every mouth. Ice, grinding, and using teeth as tools can shorten it. Come back if a corner chips.
Sometimes a thin layer of enamel is removed so the shell does not stick out. Some teeth need little or none. The dentist decides tooth by tooth after seeing the enamel and the bite. A no-prep line is not a promise for every mouth.
A veneer is a shell on one tooth or a few. A Hollywood smile usually means the front teeth that show together, so one tooth does not turn lighter than its neighbors. The exam sets the number, not the service name.
The shade is compared with your skin under clinic light, then checked in daylight when that is possible. A very white shade can look harsh when you talk. You see the shells at the try-in before permanent bonding.
