Cold or a new sense of thickness can last a few days, then ease for most people

Lumineers is a trade name for very thin ceramic shells on the front teeth. At Smile Makers in Jeddah the dentist decides preparation on each tooth after checking the enamel and the bite. Results differ from person to person.

Lumineers is a trade name for very thin ceramic shells placed on the visible face of the front teeth. In Jeddah the word is sometimes used for any thin shell, even when the product in the clinic has a different name.
This shell is thinner than a veneer a tooth is usually shaped to hold. Thinness does not skip the exam. Each tooth is still checked before anyone says whether it will be shaped or left.
Someone searching for Lumineers in Jeddah often wants a lighter look and hopes the appointment will not involve much drilling. That hope makes sense. The answer does not come from an ad. It comes from how far the tooth sticks out, from the color inside it, and from whether the gums are quiet.
This is different from a crown that covers the whole tooth. It is also different from whitening, which lifts enamel and then drops back a few shades with coffee. The shell stays on the visible face, and the shade you choose is the shade of the ceramic, not a level toothpaste will lift later.
People often ask for a whole group of teeth at once. In the chair we count the teeth that show when you talk, then we look at the gums. If they are swollen, the shell waits. A light edge does not hide a red margin.
We do not promise placement without shaping. The sentence written in ads is a question we answer on the tooth, not a slogan we stick on every mouth. One tooth may be shaped, another may be touched lightly, and a third may be left alone if it sits back and the added thickness does not push the lip while you talk.
Enamel that is removed does not grow again. If we add a shell and remove nothing, the tooth under it stays as it is, and a layer of ceramic is added to the visible face. If we shape the tooth, the shell takes the place of the layer that was removed. That difference is explained on the tooth itself before we start.
A tooth that already sticks out is an obvious example. A very thin shell with no shaping makes it stick out more, and the edge can trap food at the gum. A tooth that sits back is a different example. Added thickness may be acceptable there, if the gums are calm and the bite does not hit the edge.
X-rays are taken when the nerve or the root length is in doubt, and not as a routine on every tooth. A photo of you smiling by a window helps the conversation. It does not show enamel thickness, and it does not show decay between the teeth. That is seen in the chair.
They suit someone who wants a change in color or edge and accepts that shaping is decided one tooth at a time. They can suit a tooth that sits slightly back, if the added thickness does not change how the lips close. They also suit a tooth whose color is already close to its neighbors. A dark tooth you want hidden completely is a poor match for a shell that lets light through.
They do not suit gums that bleed. They do not suit decay that has not been treated. They do not suit someone who has already decided that every tooth will be left unshaped, before opening their mouth in the chair. That decision is not made from a WhatsApp photo.
Grinding that wears the edge needs a conversation before bonding. A very thin shell is not armor against grinding. In some cases the teeth are protected at night. If that applies, you hear it at the visit.
A very thin shell lets light through. That is an advantage when the tooth underneath is already close to the shade you want, because the shell can look nearer to enamel. It is a limit when the tooth is dark inside, from an old root canal or an old metal filling, because the shadow shows through the ceramic when you talk.
Some cases need a more opaque ceramic, or shaping that makes room for enough thickness to mask the color, or a different route from this shell. Zirconia is a more opaque material, and it is not what the word Lumineers means. Lumineers began as a name for a thin shell that lets light through, not for a dense shell meant to hide everything underneath.
We do not pick the material from this page. It is settled after the tooth is seen, and before enamel is touched.
A shell, however thin, is a layer added when nothing is removed from the tooth. On a slim tooth that sits back you may notice it only when your tongue runs over it. On a full tooth you may see it in a side photo, and when your lips close on a cup.
Trying the shell before bonding is part of the work, not a courtesy at the end of the visit. Look while you talk. If the lip does not rest comfortably on the edge, say so before it is bonded. After the final bond, changes are made on the ceramic, and there is less room to adjust.
An edge near the gum has to be polished so floss does not drag food there. A very thin shell with no shaping can end in a margin that is hard to clean if it is not finished well. That is another reason shaping is a decision about one tooth, not a rule printed for everyone.
The shade is compared with your skin under clinic light, then checked near a window when that is possible. The white of a close-up photo can disappoint you in the living room. Take your time at the try-in, before the bond. After bonding, the shade is a decision you live with.
In Jeddah sun, and in close phone photos, a brown edge shows more clearly than it does under soft light. If you drink a lot of tea in the afternoon, floss matters more than changing toothpaste every month. That is true of a very thin shell, and it is true of any ceramic that sits near the gum.
It can last for years if the edge stays sealed, the gums stay quiet, and the front teeth are not used as tools. We do not write one lifespan for every mouth. Biting ice and nails, tearing packets, and grinding shorten the life of the edge. A stained margin left for months is harder to deal with than a short visit that polishes a corner.
Ceramic does not drink tea the way enamel does, though the margin picks up stain if it opens or if tartar sits on it. Cleaning at the edge is part of the lifespan, not an optional visit. Floss passes under the contact. It should not jump over the shell.
If a written warranty exists, it has conditions. The years are not stated on this page.
If a shell comes off, keep it in a box. It is sometimes bonded again if it did not crack and the tooth did not decay. Sometimes a new one is made. We do not promise replacement every time.
You may feel cold, or a thickness your tongue did not have before. That eases for most people over a few days. A throb in one tooth, or a gum that swells, is a reason to message us and not a reason to wait on a painkiller. Name the tooth in the message.
Your tongue may notice the thickness for a couple of days even when other people do not. If a lisp stays, we may polish a spot. One sound is not a reason to start over.
You can eat once any numbness has worn off, if a local anesthetic was used. Start with soft food. Do not open a packet with the shell, and do not bite ice. Tea and coffee stain around the edge more than they stain the ceramic itself.
If food collects under the margin in the first week, do not leave it. Floss gently, or come in so we can see whether the edge needs polishing. Left for weeks, it stains the margin and irritates the gum.
There is no Lumineers price on this page. An offer, if there is one, lives on the offers page. The fee changes with the number of teeth, with shaping or gum treatment before bonding, with the ceramic, and with a temporary if a tooth is shaped and needs a cover until it returns from the lab.
Ask what the figure includes if one tooth needs a root canal. Two photos, before anyone has examined you, are not a quote.
You can ask about installments with Tabby. Approval is Tabby's decision, not the clinic's. The application may go through, part of it may go through, or it may be declined. Installments do not make the shell thinner, and they do not skip shaping on a tooth that sticks out.
If the application is declined, you and reception agree how to pay, or you delay the cosmetic part when there is no pain. An extraction or a root canal the tooth needs does not wait on the installment result.
A dental veneer, in the form people know, takes a thin layer of enamel so the tooth does not get thicker, and that layer does not return. Lumineers is a word for a thinner shell, and a tooth may be shaped, or it may not. A Hollywood smile plans a group of front teeth together so one tooth does not end up a different color from its neighbor.
If you need to hide a dark color, thinness may not be enough, and if the tooth already sticks out, leaving the enamel untouched may not suit it. If the neighboring teeth are a different color, the number may need to grow so one tooth does not turn white alone. The decision is made in the chair after the enamel and the bite are seen.
Book with your name, mobile number, and the service. You do not pick a time on the site, and reception calls during opening hours. The clinic WhatsApp is 055 117 0327. Ask if you like: which tooth is shaped, what the thickness adds, and whether the product is Lumineers itself.

We look at how far each tooth sticks out, its color, and the gums, not at the product name alone.

We agree on which teeth might be shaped and which might be left, before any preparation.
03
Any enamel removed is decided tooth by tooth. Enamel that is removed does not return.
04
The shell is tried while you talk, then bonded if the thickness feels acceptable.

Come back if the edge starts trapping food, or if the tooth still feels bulky against the lip.
You can ask Tabby about instalments. Approval comes from Tabby.
Lumineers are described as thin shells that may need little drilling or none that you would notice. That still depends on tooth position and the bite. A tooth that sticks out may need shaping so the shell does not look bulky.
They may suit a small chip, a mild color change, or a narrow gap when the tooth already sits calmly and the gums are healthy. They are a weak option for a very dark tooth, or for a bite that grinds hard, until the edge has a protection plan.
Yes. Lumineers is a brand name for a type of thin shell. Other labs make thin shells under different names. The name does not replace an exam of the enamel, gums, and bite.
