Cold sensitivity can last a few days after shaping, then ease for most people

A dental veneer is a thin porcelain or zirconia shell bonded to the visible face of a front tooth at Smile Makers in Jeddah. The dentist decides how much enamel to shape after checking that tooth and the gums. Removed enamel does not grow back, and the result differs from person to person.

A dental veneer is a thin shell bonded to the face of a front tooth, the part that shows when you talk. Porcelain and zirconia are the materials these shells are made from. Neither word is this clinic's name, and neither is a package sold from an ad.
A filling closes decay. A crown wraps the whole tooth when a crack is large or the tooth is weak after a root canal. The shell stays on the face you see in conversation and when you smile.
One shell is sometimes enough for a dark tooth sitting between neighbors of a close shade. Two, or four, may be needed so one tooth does not turn light while the tooth beside it stays tea-colored. The count comes from how wide your smile is.
People asking about veneers in Jeddah come with an edge that chipped on a bone, a front filling that shows up as a line in photos, or a root-treated tooth that is still darker than its neighbor. Those are different jobs. The exam sorts them out. A picture in an ad does not.
It suits someone who has tried whitening, or who understands that whitening only lifts enamel, and still dislikes one front tooth. Whitening does not rebuild a chipped edge. It also does not make an old filling match the tooth beside it.
A chipped corner can be a candidate when the nerve is quiet and biting or night pain is absent. A shell can be tidier than a new filling stacked on a tired one. Not every time. The dentist looks at how much enamel is left before suggesting any shaping.
A small gap between the two front teeth can be narrowed with a shell, when the gums are calm and the tooth sits in the arch. A wide gap, or a tooth that sits far inside, may need orthodontics first. Shaping a healthy tooth so a shell can span a wide space is sometimes harder on the enamel than moving the tooth first and then using one shell on the edge alone.
It is a poor fit if you arrive with an actor's shade in mind. The color is chosen against your skin, under clinic light, then worn in Jeddah sun and in the kitchen at home. A very white shade can look harsh when you talk.
Shaping removes a thin layer of enamel so the shell has a place to sit and does not push the lip. That layer does not grow again. Toothpaste will not put it back.
That does not mean every tooth is shaped by the same amount. A tooth that sticks out may need clearer shaping so the shell does not push the lip, while a tooth that sits back may need less if enough enamel remains. The amount is set after the enamel is seen.
If shaping reaches the dentin under the enamel, cold sensitivity can linger. We talk about that chance when it looks likely for your tooth. A throb at night is not ordinary sensitivity. It is a reason for us to see the tooth.
A shell over decay, or over gums that bleed, moves the problem under the ceramic. Decay and the gums are treated first. Shape comes after that.
Porcelain lets light through in a way close to enamel, so it is often asked for on the upper front teeth when the tooth underneath is already light. Zirconia is tougher and more opaque. It helps when a dark color sits underneath, from an old metal filling or from a tooth that has had a root canal.
Both are ceramics made outside the mouth and then bonded. What you may notice later is translucency, more than the word strength printed on an ad. A zirconia canine with porcelain incisors is a combination some mouths need, and whether it fits yours depends on shade and bite.
The lab name, the shell thickness, and the bonding material are not fixed on a public page.
Before the final bond we seat the shell on the tooth. Look in the mirror while you say a full sentence, not only while you lift your lip to smile. If an edge feels wrong against the lip, say so at once. A small change before the bond is simpler than cutting the ceramic two days later, once you have already gotten used to the shape.
At the consultation we count the teeth that show, look at the gums, and take x-rays if the nerve or the root is in doubt. A phone photo helps the conversation. It does not replace the chair, because the lip hides part of the tooth when you speak and shows more of it when you laugh.
We then agree on the number and the direction of the shade. Some clinics preview a shape on a screen, and some use wax. What we commit to is that you understand the direction before enamel is touched. A screen image is a way to talk, and it is different from the shell you will eat and speak with every day.
The phrase "no drilling" is not a description of this page. It is a tooth-by-tooth question, not a slogan. If a tooth is shaped, a temporary may stay on until the shell returns from the lab. Do not chew hard bread on that temporary, since it is only there to protect the tooth.
If the temporary comes off, call us. Do not glue a pharmacy product onto bare enamel.
A shell can last for years if the edge stays sealed and the gum around it stays quiet. We do not write one lifespan for every mouth. Biting ice, tearing packets with teeth, and grinding shorten it. A chipped corner left for weeks lets stain creep under the ceramic.
Grinding does not rule a veneer out for every person. In some cases the edges are protected at night.
If the clinic gives a written warranty, it has conditions, including checkups and not using the tooth as a tool. The number of years is not stated here.
The ceramic itself does not drink tea the way enamel does. The edge can discolor if tartar builds up, or if a margin of the bond opens. Regular cleaning is part of keeping the look. Between visits, floss does more than an expensive toothpaste.
If the shell comes off, keep it in a box and clean the tooth gently. It can sometimes be bonded again if it did not crack and the tooth did not decay. Sometimes a new shell is made. We do not promise rebonding every time.
For the first days the tooth may feel cold, or it may feel longer. That eases for most people over a few days. A throb in one tooth, or a swollen gum, is not something to cover with a painkiller and ignore. Message the clinic and name the tooth.
Speech can feel different for a day or two if the shell is thicker than your tongue expects. Tell us if a lisp stays. We may polish a contact point. That is not a new plan.
You can eat the same day once any numbness has worn off, if a local anesthetic was used. Start with something soft. Ice, nuts, and bone belong on the back teeth, not on the shell. Coffee and tea do not stain ceramic easily, and they do stain around the edge.
Smoking stains that edge faster in the first weeks. If you are already stopping, the edge benefits. That is a description of stain, not a line in a contract.
The price of a veneer is not on this page. An offer, if there is one, lives on the offers page only. The fee changes with the number of teeth, the ceramic, gum or nerve treatment before shaping, and a temporary if one is needed.
In the chair, ask what the figure includes, and what is billed on its own if one tooth needs a root canal before bonding. That is clearer than asking for a full price before anyone has seen you. Two photos in an ad are not a quote.
You can ask to pay in installments with Tabby. Approval is not the clinic's decision. Tabby reviews the application and may approve it, approve part of it, or decline it. Installments do not change the number of shells or the ceramic.
If the application is declined, you and reception agree how to pay, or you delay the cosmetic part when there is no pain. A root canal or extraction needed for pain is not delayed because installments were declined.
The veneer edge sits near the gum. Thin or uneven gums can show a darker line over the years, or trap food under the margin. Some cases include a small gum adjustment before shaping. That is its own procedure, with a little swelling, and it is separate from the bonding visit.
We do not promise a millimeter match between the two sides of the mouth. We look for calm gums when you smile, and an edge that does not collect a brown line after a month of tea.
A hard brush and a scrubbing motion hurt the gum around ceramic the same way they hurt enamel. Use a soft brush and short strokes. If the gum bleeds for a few days and then settles, watch it. If bleeding lasts a week, we want to see it.
A Hollywood smile treats the front teeth as a group, so one tooth does not turn white while its neighbors stay the color of coffee. A single veneer is for a chipped or dark tooth beside neighbors of a similar color. Fewer teeth are enough when your canines do not show in your smile to begin with.
Lumineers is a trade name for a thinner shell, and preparation for that is decided tooth by tooth. The Lumineers page explains it. The choice among the three names is made in the chair. Enamel thickness, the color inside the tooth, and how much tooth shows are three facts a service name cannot answer.
Book with your name, mobile number, and the service. You do not pick a clock time on the site, and reception calls during opening hours. The clinic WhatsApp is 055 117 0327. Bring a written question if you like: how many teeth, what happens to the enamel, and what a chipped corner means a year later.

Not always. A figure for one fixture may omit the crown, grafting, imaging, or a temporary. Ask for the full plan items for your case.
Opening hours are published on the site: typically 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Friday from 4:00 p.m. We are not advertising “24 hours” on this page. For general medical emergencies outside hours, go to the right service, and contact us at the next opening for dental follow-up.
No. It usually means the edge is inflamed. Extra force harms. Soft and regular beats hard and rare.
